This is a follow-on from Rags and Riches told alternately by Seb and Sam, offspring of a dizzy second-hand clothes dealer mother and an unreliable aristocratic father. Their varied, incident-filled lives take in an assortment of unusual characters - a battle-axe granny, a mad grandfather ith a decaying castle and their own school mates. Joan Lingard's skill is in making the whole thing sound not just lively but also quite plausible and in inducing the reader to want to keep turning the pages.
